RHONDA SPELLMAN
Resides: Marshalltown
Hometown: Lamar, Colo.
FAMILY LIFE
Family: Husband is Andy Spellman. We are blessed by sons Tanner, 17, and Oliver, 15.
Pets: Bella and Max — two Schnoodles, joined by Stella, a grey tabby.
Hobbies and interests: Writing and publishing. I have published five books; three I wrote, one written by Oliver and one by another author. My book is “The Journey Home from Autism,” based on Tanner’s recovery from a vaccine injury. It won two international awards. I would love to give copies of this book — along with a free consultation — to anyone with a child on the spectrum. Contact me at 303-875-8742. Additionally, I like to cook, play racquetball, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
WORK
Occupation: I opened Allergy Elimination Plus, Inc., on Sept. 1 2016. My office is located inside Nourish Healthy Weight and Wellness Center, 3109 S. Center St., across from Applebee’s Restaurant.
What that means: As a Certified Cold Laser Therapist, I provide a pain-less, pill-less procedure that is a form of acupuncture without needles that will: Eliminate allergies, release emotional trauma, promote deep tissue healing and decrease inflammation and pain.
Tenure: I was a Certified Optician for seven years, before becoming a mom. I began working with the NAET muscle therapy approach in 2005. I will become an Allergy Antidote Practitioner in April.
Best part of occupation: Helping others to live a healthier life, especially children on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
If I could change jobs I would: Operate “Creative Cranium Centers” where people who learn differently can become experts in an artistic venue. I have the basic operational plans designed and hope to make the centers a reality some day.
FAVORITES
Movies: “The Bucket List,” “Serendipity,” “Next,” “Good Will Hunting,”The Ultimate Gift,” and “Moonstruck.”
Food: Everything except liver or black licorice.
COMMUNITY
Best part of living here: Without a doubt – the people. Since moving from Colorado in 2012, I have met the most gracious, generous and down-to-earth good people. I’m fond of the racquetball court at the Marshalltown YMCA-YWCA, and my favorite restaurant is Tarasco’s, for the best Mexican food in town.
Most influential person: My mom and dad. My mom remains my best friend. Dad was the most decent man I ever knew. He was honest, generous and kind to everyone. He often fed and cared for homeless people and lost animals. I miss him terribly. He passed away in 2015.
Local involvement: I am a member of Marshalltown’s Restore Church where everyone is welcome, “loved-up” and “restored.” I also volunteer at GMG secondary school, where my sons attend. I love the staff and kids at GMG too.
Advice on life: Do everything in love and imagine every person you meet could be your eternal roommate in Heaven.
