Marshalltown Police Department Capt. Mike Hanken and Lori Abernathy, both members of the Sugar Creek Townhome Association, were part of a crew of volunteers installing blue lights at every lamp post Saturday morning within the association’s residential district. Thanks to a donation of blue lights from the Marshalltown Evening Lions Club, the entire neighborhood will be bathed in blue in recognition of local law enforcement during the entire month of May.
