Man accused of stabbing his brother to death

The Marshalltown Police Department has arrested a Marshalltown man in the stabbing death of his brother.

According to the MPD, at approximately 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, officers with the MPD along with the Marshalltown Fire Department and paramedics from Central Iowa Healthcare responded to 7½ S. 9th St. on the report of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on-scene and found an adult male with a stab wound to the lower torso. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Isaiah Jacob Parker of Marshalltown, was transported to Central Iowa Healthcare by ambulance where he subsequently died as a result of his injury.

The suspect, who was on-scene when officers arrived, was transported to the police department for questioning.

After questioning, and with the assistance of the Marshall County Attorney’s Office, Parker’s older brother, Jordan Scott Parker, 22, was charged with second-degree murder and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he will make his initial court appearance later today.

MPD detectives are continuing the investigation into this case.
