Four arrested in drug bust
Four Marshalltown residents face numerous drug charges after local authorities served a search warrant at 110 N. 4th St. on Thursday.
During the search, officials seized methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Due to evidence of drug use, drug sales and poor living conditions in the residence, Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force investigators also removed two children from the house.
As a result of the investigation, four suspects were arrested on various criminal drug charges including:
• Alphonze Emanuel, 42 — possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; and prohibited acts, an aggravated misdemeanor;
• Angel Pena, 33 — possession of Schedule II controlled substance – methamphetamine, second or subsequent, an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor;
• Deralliac Luckett, 39 — possession of Schedule I controlled substance – marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor;
• Kristen Hernandez, 28 — possession of Schedule I controlled substance – marijuana, a serious misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor; and two counts of child endangerment, aggravated misdemeanors.
Following initial hearings in court Friday, preliminary hearings for the four suspects have been set for later this month.
Emanuel and Pena are scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. July 10 in Marshall County District Court; while Luckett and Hernandez set to appear at 1 p.m. July 19. Both Emanuel and Pena are currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond each, while Luckett and Hernandez were released on a promise to appear.
The task force was assisted with the execution of the search warrant by the Marshalltown Police Department, Marshalltown SWAT and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
