50th anniversary Harvest Ball slated for Sat.

It’s been a tradition for 50 years. The annual Harvest Ball benefiting St. Francis Catholic School promises an evening of magic, good food and the chance to raise money for the school.

The festivities will kick off on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Impala Ballroom, with doors opening at 5 p.m. for a cocktail hour. At 6 p.m., a meal will be served, catered by Smokin’ G’s. Local church youth will help serve the meal as a way of raising funds for their upcoming trip.

But the highlight of the golden anniversary Harvest Ball will be a performance by REZA, following the meal.

“To celebrate, we are bringing in REZA, who is a world-famous illusionist who has gotten international attention,” said Jill Bidwell, who serves as one of the coordinators. “It’s unique and we wanted the entertainment to stand out in the community and engage more people.”

A live and silent auction will be held, and will include prize packages donated by local entities.

“You can enjoy winning a murder mystery party, a private party featuring Exit 185, a trip to the Ozarks, usage of a condo at Lake Okoboji, a wine tasting, and more,” Bidwell said.

Donations for the silent auction are still be accepted. Contact Carrie Seberger at: 641-750-9822 for more information. RSVP is required by Friday, also by getting in touch with Seberger. Volunteers are always needed.

The evening does not require a ticket, and payment will be taken at the door. Tickets cost $55 per person and $90 per couple. All current families will be offered a Golden Ticket discount. Attire is casual. Adults only.

Funds raised go towards the school’s curriculum and technological advancement.

“We are trying to get record attendance. Enjoy a night out on the town with a world-renowned entertainer. It’s a good date night opportunity,” Bidwell concluded.
