Addison Miller, 11, a sixth grader at Lenihan Intermediate School, works hard to exemplify her school’s tenets: RCATS (Respect, Connected, Accountable, Tolerant, Safe).

“Addison shows the RCATS spirit; she is respectful and eager to help whenever asked,” said para educator Susanne Sietmann.

The student does well in all of her academic pursuits, but she does have her preferences.

“I like reading and writing. I like to write everything, and fantasy books are my favorite,” Addison said.

Currently, she and her fellow pupils are learning how to pen their memoirs.

“She’s really smart and a strong student; she’s someone I’ve had an eye on this year as being a student worthy of recognition,” Sietmann said. “She always does her work; I can ask her to do anything, and she does it. I’m just really proud of her.”

When not in school, Addison can be found at home hanging out with her four siblings, or taking dance classes. She is out for tap, ballet, jazz, and lyrical, and participates in competitions.

“I’ve been dancing since age three,” she noted.

While the student has not yet decided what she’d like to be when she grows up, she knows the possibilities are endless.

“She is a shot of joy in a sometimes hectic day,” Sietmann said.
