Vandalism suspects sought

Local law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating two people that they believe are responsible for numerous reports of vandalism in Marshalltown. According to Marshalltown Police Department Capt. Chris Jones, the latest reports occurred in the Lennox Industries (1402 East Main St.) parking lot between 12:45-1:15 a.m. Oct. 11 where the suspects spray painted the terms “OZERS” and “FW US” on vehicles and property. Similar reports were made on Oct. 13 in the area of Nicholson Ford where the term “OZERS” was spray painted on park property. Jones said there have been other minor reports about similar vandalism along sidewalks and the bike path in town, but that these most recent reports were the first time personal property was reported damaged. Jones said it’s unclear what “OZERS” and “FW US” mean, if anything, adding that there is no indication that the terminology or the actions represented were gang-related. Those with any information about those responsible for these incidents should contact the MPD at (641) 754-5725 or contact Marshall County Crime Stoppers at (641) 753-1234, via text by texting the word “marshall” followed by the tip to CRIMES (274637), or online at
