Woman arrested for domestic abuse offense

Schulmeister, Chasity

A call to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week concerning a possible domestic abuse situation led to the arrest of an Albion woman.

Chasity Sharona Schulmeister, 37, was taken into custody by Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputies on two charges, according to an MCSO report.

According to Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Joel Phillips, deputies arrived at the residence identified in the call, and upon investigation, noticed a male subject with a bloodied nose. Additional details revealed Schulmeister allegedly hit the male subject during an argument. Additionally, Schulmeister had allegedly tried to take a telephone away from the male when he was attempting to report the incident.

Schulmeister was charged with obstruction of emergency communications, and domestic abuse assault-third or subsequent offense. She is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
