Making a child’s Christmas a littler merrier

Monday afternoon, a group of five paramedics and/or EMTs from UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown Area Paramedic Service delivered 400 gifts to the Salvation Army as part of its annual “Fill the Rig” Christmas presents drive. An ambulance was chock full of gifts, ranging from toys, puzzles, clothes and hats and gloves. The items were collected at Theisen’s, whereby shoppers dropped off goodies at the store on Nov. 25 and Dec. 9. Monetary donations were also accepted. “This will make a lot of kids happy,” said Major Beth Stillwell.
