Enjoying fishing year-round

Saturday morning at Grimes Farm and Conservation Center, fishing enthusiasts attended the free, annual fishing lure making seminar, hosted by the Marshall County Conservation Board (MCCB). Dean Elder, picutred, showed attendees how to tie flies, such as the Prince Nymph. Jim Wiegand demonstrated how he makes jigs, spinner baits and finishes off crank baits, while Mike Stegmann showed how to mold, cast and paint crank baits made to look like the classic models of years gone by. “We had a great turnout, especially with kids that came to get spinner bait kits,” Stegmann said.
