Man accused of punching girlfriend

Ceniceros

A Marshalltown man is in trouble after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the forehead.

On Wed. afternoon, Marshalltown Police officers responded to a report that Jesse Ceniceros, 32, had assaulted his girlfriend at their residence.

The alleged incident occurred in front of one of their children, according to MPD Capt. Brian Batterson.

Following the investigation and as a cautionary measure, the girlfriend was taken to a local hospital emergency room for an evaluation; she was later discharged with minor injuries.

Ceniceros was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault and child endangerment and taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he remained until his initial court appearance on Thursday.

The court released Ceniceros from jail, but ordered him to have no contact with his girlfriend or the child.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. Feb. 2.
