Jonatan Jaimes Cisnernos, 8, a third grader at Hoglan Elementary School, is the type of student an instructor looks forward to teaching.

“Jonatan uses his manners and is very respectful to his teachers and friends. I appreciate how responsible and studious he is,” said teacher Abbe Hand.

The pupil’s favorite subject is ST math (a visual math program that builds a conceptual understanding of math using a variety of learning and creative problem solving techniques). He is currently learning about fractions.

In his spare time, Jonatan can be found playing with Legos, spending time outdoors, and playing computer games. He also is a voracious reader, and particularly enjoys adventure books.

“His love for reading is evident all day long, as his nose is always in a book,” Hand explained.

Hand said her goal for Jonatan is for him to continue to build on his strong reading skills.

When he grows up, he could see a career in the game industry.

“I want to be a ‘Youtuber’,” he said. “I would play games and show other people how to do it.”

“As into his games and activities that he is, I could see him working on that in the future,” Hand said.

Jonatan is the type of kid that sets a good example for the other students.

“He doesn’t rush his work and he makes sure it’s 100 percent. He’s just a sweet child and a great kid, and I know that Jonatan will continue to soar as his work ethic will drive him to great places,” Hand concluded.
