T-R FILE PHOTO The 11th annual Times-Republican Bridal Expo will be held Sunday, Feb. 18 from 12-3 p.m. at the Best Western Regency Inn, allowing brides-to-be the chance to browse area vendors, try samples and get a start on their wedding planning.

The annual Times-Republican Bridal Expo has become a staple event for brides-to-be and their entourages.

Now in its 11th year, the expo will take place on Sunday, Feb. 18 from 12-3 p.m. at the Best Western Regency Inn. Around 20 area vendors will be on hand to offer samples, planning tips and help with all the variety of details it takes to plan a wedding.

“I think we have a nice mix of vendors,” said T-R Assistant Marketing Director Deanna Davis-McGowan. “We have reception spots, cake bakers, D.J.’s, a videographer, floral shops, tuxedo rentals, invitation printers and more. We have some new vendors and some repeat ones.”

The T-R is sponsoring two prizes which require registration to win: an overnight stay for two at the Woodland Bed & Breakfast, and an overnight stay at the Best Western Regency Inn. In addition, various vendors will offer their own raffles, at their booths. Each bride-to-be will receive a free swag bag filled with samples and other goodies.

“It’s a very well-attended event within a 75-mile radius of here. It’s a good way to get some information and do some planning. We’re looking forward to a really nice day,” Davis-McGowan said.

Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
