Recipe for disaster

A Marshall County Sheriff’s deputy stopped this vehicle going 95 mph along Highway 30 Tuesday morning. The roadway was roughly 75 percent snow and ice covered as of result of Monday’s wintry weather. The sheriff’s office told the T-R that this is an example of dangerous behavior that contributes to preventable crashes. The Iowa State Patrol reports that eight people died on Iowa roadways Monday, bringing the total of traffic fatalities in 2018 to at least 34 people. In 2018, one traffic fatality has occurred in Marshall County. In 2017, the total number of people killed on Marshall County roadways was 12.
