On Highway 14 Corridor study

The City of Marshalltown has announced dates for Highway 14 Corridor Study focus group meetings, and two Open Houses. One Open House is today and another Tuesday. The focus areas were identified by city consultants Bolton & Menk of Ames, as a way to look at the Iowa River Bridge to Anson Street areas as unique segments which have different issues related to transportation, planning, and redevelopment. The meetings for each focus area will be an opportunity for residents living and working in those areas to learn more about short and long term ideas for enhancing the corridor, as well as giving feedback in a small group setting.

— Focus Area #1 [Iowa River Bridge to Woodland St.] – Today, 4-5:30 p.m. at the Community Building in Riverview Park

— Focus Area #2 [Woodland St. to State St.] Today, 6-7:30 p.m. at Haley’s Deli, 501 N. 3rd Ave

— Focus Area #3 [State St. to Linn St.] Tuesday, 3-4:30 p.m., at the Orpheum Black Box, 220 E. Main St.

— Focus Area #4 [Linn St. to Anson St.]- Tuesday, 1-2:30 p.m. at Marshalltown Community School District Board Room, 1002 S. 3rd Ave.

The Open House will be held Tuesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Orpheum Theater Black Box. The open house will provide an opportunity for anyone interested in the study to provide feedback on proposed ideas for each of the focus areas. For more information about the Highway 14 Corridor Study, visit
