Pat White, above, and Hanny Garcia Huera were among those donating blood during the Marshall County Employee Wellness Committee’s annual blood drive Friday afternoon at the Salvation Army Community Center. Committee member and Marshall County Sheriff Steve Hoffman said every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, and while 38 percent of the American population is eligible to donate, only 10 percent of the population provides 100 percent of the donated blood in the United States. “Because there’s an ongoing and immediate need, people can step up and donate to their community,” he said. “One pint of blood can save up to three lives
