Majors Ben and Beth Stillwell

Majors Ben and Beth Stillwell, who have provided leadership at the Marshalltown Salvation Army for about the last five years, will be retiring, effective April 1.

“We will have some temporary leadership coming in from other agencies, as we will not have a permanent replacement for them until July,” Major Greg Thompson, divisional commander at the Western Division office in Omaha, Neb. told the Times-Republican.

“We have a good system in place and (the Marshalltown branch) will continue to run as it has. We have a good staff and wonderful advisory board that continues to move forward, and we’re grateful that they’re able to take retirement.”
