The art team examined the paintings using a special UV light. Here, Senior Paintings Conservator Amber Schabdach shows where there are scratches on the piece “La Bievre A Gentilly” by French painter Maurice Utrillo. She noted the marks had been re-touched many years ago, but the paint does not match exactly. She said the process of “inpainting” could replace any lost or corrupted parts of a work of art, without compromising the integrity of the piece.
