Man charged with eluding law enforcement

A Haverhill man was arrested by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy last week and taken to Marshall County Jail on numerous charges stemming from an incident in the 2600 block of Reed Avenue.

Mathew Cook, 22, was charged with reckless driving; driving on the wrong side of two-way highway; interference with official acts; eluding; speeding; possession if drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Chief Deputy Joel Phillips said the defendant was involved in a scuffle with law enforcement while being arrested. However, no one was injured.
