Man charged for spitting in police vehicle
A Marshalltown man was arrested by Marshalltown police and taken to Marshall County Jail last week for spitting repeatedly in a police vehicle and interfering with official acts.
Criminal complaints and affidavits filed in Marshall County District Court said Hunter James Mills, 18, was told by an officer that spitting in a police vehicle was a charge. The defendant told the officer he did not care and continued. The defendant spit approximately 15-20 times on the plexiglass-glass barrier (separating officer from arrestee in squad car).
Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD said police had been initially called to a residence on complaint of a disturbance. They asked Mills to step into another room and he declined. He was then taken to the police vehicle when the spitting incident occurred.
