ELDORA — ETS Credit Union will merge with MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union effective Feb. 1.

“We already have a branch in Eldora and so we are looking forward to being able to offer customers more services than they have at ETS. It will be a real win for them and for us to strengthen our presence in Eldora,” said Janet Borer, CEO of MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union. “We are really happy to have them on board.”

ETS Credit Union opened in 1962 and has assets totaling $2.89 million, providing services for over 300 members. It will remain open following the merger and staff at that branch will become MEMBERS1st staff.

“ETS is a small credit union that only serves employees of the State Training School in Eldora,” she said. “But the great thing for them is they will continue to have on-campus services and have access to extra cash services.”

MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union is based in Iowa and is a not-for-profit institution. It has locations in Marshalltown, Ames, Boone, Iowa Falls, Traer and Eldora.

Borer said its Marshalltown and Eldora customers would not encounter any changes in services from the merger.
