Charles “Chuck” William Steinfeldt, Sr., 84
Charles “Chuck” William Steinfeldt, Sr., 84, of rural Ackley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2016, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held on September 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora.
Chuck was born November 8, 1931, in Eldora, IA. He was the eldest of five children born to Carl and Mabel (Mitterer) Steinfeldt. He was baptized on 12/13/1931 and confirmed on 3/25/1945 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. In 1948, he graduated Eldora High School at the age of 16.
On September 2, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marjorie ‘Muggs’ Hager in Union, Iowa. Chuck enjoyed farming, horses, tractor pulling and watching his horses race at Prairie Meadows. He also enjoyed Sunday dinners at their home, where the family often gathered. Charles was an honest, hard-working husband who loved his family and God.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Muggs; 4 sons: Terry and his wife Dennise, of Steamboat Rock, Gary and his wife Betty, of Newton, David and his wife Annette, of Dike, and Bill, of Eldora, and 1 daughter: Julie, of Yukon, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings: Betty (the late Don) Hilsabeck, of Blairstown, Marlyn ‘Mick’ Steinfeldt, of Eldora, and Patricia (Marvin) Maronn, of Eldora, along with several other relatives and friends.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Steinfeldt.
