Wilbur “Bill” Hatcher, 96, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Monday, September 26, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2016, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Bill was born March 29, 1920, to Perry and Bessie (Hof) Hatcher, in rural Clemons. He was educated in a country school in rural Clemons and graduated from Clemons High School. Bill served his country during WWII in the United States Army. Bill was united in marriage to Marilyn Elery on May 29, 1942, in Marshalltown. In his early years he was employed with Fisher Controls and Dunham & Bush as a tool and die maker. Bill owned and operated A-C TV Clinic in Marshalltown, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. Bill enjoyed golf, reading and loading the family up for Sunday drives.
Bill will be missed by his daughter, Becky; a grandson, Tracy Hatcher, of Marshalltown; a daughter in law, Bev Hatcher, of Marshalltown; a niece, Barb (Ed) Mayta, of Marshalltown; his faithful dog, Abby and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn; a son, Terry; a sister, Lillian and his beloved dog, Mindy.
