Robert E. Graves and Barbara Bowman Graves

Robert E. Graves, long time resident of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on January 7, 2015, at the age of 87, at his residence in The Pavilion at Great Hills of Austin, Texas. Mr. Graves had taught science many years in the Marshalltown Community School system, in the Junior High and the High School. He was a member of Eastern Star, Masons and the First United Methodist Church. During his retirement he worked with the Marshall County Conservation Board to develop the GrimesFarm and Conservation Center and on other Marshall County projects.

Barbara Jean Bowman Graves, 85, wife of Robert E. Graves, also a long time resident of Marshalltown, followed her husband on September 13, 2016, at her residence in Autumn Leaves of Northwest Austin, Austin, Texas. Mrs. Graves had been an elementary school secretary for the Marshalltown Community School System and valued her membership in Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church.

Robert and Barbara are survived by their two daughters, Catherine Jane Stende and Virginia Lynn Leyen; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
