Ila Colleen Rebik, 82, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Southridge Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services for Ila will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with a vigil at 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later date. The family has requested that you come to the service dressed in pink or purple, as this was Ila’s favorite colors. Ila Shuler was born on December 9, 1934, in Montour to William and Maxine Burns Shuler. She graduated from Van Cleve High School in 1952. On December 29, 1955, Ila was united in marriage to Stanley Rebik at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ila had previously worked at Anson school in the cafeteria as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Lioness Club as well as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Ila enjoyed baking and cooking and she loved to iron and clean as she was a very hard worker and enjoyed keeping busy. She also enjoyed yard work and going to Lake Ponderosa. Ila was able to see her beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
Ila is survived by her husband of 62 years, Stanley; Children: Sam (Margaret) Rebik, of Gilman, Willis (Lisa) Rebik, of Parker, Colorado, Deb (Rick) Hiner, of Centennial, Colorado, Steve (Cheryl) Rebik, of Aurora, Colorado and Doug Rebik, of Altoona. Grandchildren: Misty, Ricky (Katie), Julia, Kyle Ross, Christina, Kyle William, Austin, Jordan and Madisen. She is also survived by her brother Bill (Carol) Shuler, of Great Falls, Montana as well as her wonderful neighbors Dick and Mary Kratoska.
Ila is preceded in death by her parents William and Maxine as well as sister Norma Shuler.
