Elizabeth “Betty” Lindsey, 90, of Gilman, IA, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at Grandview Heights Rehab & Healthcare, Marshalltown, IA. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Homes, Marshalltown. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Betty was born April 6, 1927, to Jay Meyer and Octa (Pickering) Meyer, in Newton, IA. She graduated from Newton High School. Betty was united in marriage to Charles “Matt” Lindsey on February 25, 1951, at the First Lutheran Church, in Newton. She was employed with Marshalltown Instruments. She was a former member of the Gilman United Methodist Church where she was involved in Guild. Some of Betty’s favorite hobbies included cooking, baking, and playing cards, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Betty will be missed by her daughter, Anna Marie (Duane) Huseboe of Gilman, three grandchildren; Scott (Kelly) Macauley of Marshalltown, Jeff (Renee) Lindsey of Des Moines, IA, Kathy (Anthony) Johanna of Urbandale, IA, seven great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Madison, Cameron, Perry, Oliver, Jude, and Lennon, a sister, Barb Birkenholtz of Newton, and a daughter-in-law, Marj “Cookie” Witt of Urbandale. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Wayne, a half-brother, Frank Meyer, and a brother, Milton Meyer.
