Gregory Jon Navis, 60

Gregory Jon Navis, 60, of Atlanta, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, after battling Leukemia, with family by his side.

The son of John and Edyth (VanderMeer) Navis, he was born March 1, 1957, in Waupun, Wisconsin. On May 6, 1981 in Marshalltown, Iowa, Greg was united in marriage to Marilea Ann Perkins, who survives.

Greg is also survived by one son, Jonathan Navis and wife April, of Green Castle, Missouri; two daughters: Amy Anderson and husband Curtis, of La Plata, Missouri, and Addie Perkins, of Columbia, Missouri; his mother, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; one honorary daughter, Amber Richards, of Minnesota; two sisters: Priscilla Buteyn, of Waupun, Wisconsin, and Susan Shookman, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren: Sierra, Isaiah, Haley, Autumn, Zack, Jason, Orion, Melody, Mark, Emma, Annabelle, Adam and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and step-daughter, April Perkins.

Greg lived in Kirksville before moving to Atlanta a few years ago. Before retiring, he was employed as a crane operator at M. Gervich and Sons.

Greg enjoyed fishing, working on cars, riding motorcycles, playing with his grandkids, camping and traveling. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Kirksville.

Greg has been cremated and a memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Kirksville.

Arrangements are under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
