Helen Norman, 73, of State Center, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

Memorial services for Helen will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later date. Helen Henze was born on March 25, 1944, at Woods Hospital in State Center to Bill and Inez Fricke Henze. She graduated from State Center High School in 1962. On August 24, 1963, Helen was united in marriage to Larry Norman at her parent’s home in State Center. Helen was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed riding her bike when she was younger as well as faithfully attending her son’s baseball games. Helen was a great cook and made wonderful desserts. She enjoyed Hawkeye and Cyclone sports and loved all animals, but especially her house cats.

Helen is survived by her children: Denise (Chris) Dickenson, of State Center, Jeff Norman, of State Center, Marvin Norman, of Marshalltown, and Carl (Renee) Norman, of State Center. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Trentin Norman, of State Center, Laura (Jamon) Walker, of Radcliffe, Lucas Dickenson, of State Center, Felicia Dickenson, of State Center, and Greg Norman, of State Center; step-grandchildren: Dylan Bradley, of Marshalltown, Malory Bradley, of Tampa, Florida, and Nathan Bradley, of Creston. Great-grandchildren: Jude, Lyle and Zoe Walker, of Radcliffe, as well as her siblings: Dennis (Mary Jo) Henze, of Zearing, David (Marie) Henze, of Zearing, Mary Jo Browning, of Ankeny, and Paula (David) Eaton, of State Center.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Larry; parents Bill and Inez; daughter Leona Norman and sister Gene Keeler.
