Kenneth Dwight Fisher, 74, of Garwin passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Garwin United Methodist Church with a visitation held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa starting at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Dwight was born on the family farm on July 16, 1943 to the parents of Kenneth and Juanita (Shedenhelm) Fisher. He was raised on the farm and attended the

Garwin High School. Dwight married Carol Rohwer, had six children and later divorced. He was remarried to Pat Woosley in November 1988 and were together until her passing in June 2009. Dwight was employed by Southard Implement as a mechanic for over thirty years. In Dwight’s free time he would be found tinkering on many different projects in his shop and fixing farm equipment for others. He enjoyed trips to Texas, Northeast Iowa, and visiting family throughout Iowa and Minnesota. In recent years he enjoyed breakfast at local coffee shops and socializing with friends and farmers at the feed store. Dwight loved to be home with his family and spent as much time with them as he could.

Dwight leaves behind his children, Jeff (Julie) Fisher of Story City, IA, Kevin (Bonnie) Fisher of Preston, MN, Mark (Teresa) Fisher of Maxwell, IA, David

(Gina) Fisher of Marshalltown, IA, John (Shannon) Fisher of Garwin, IA, Debi (Jay) Jackson of Garwin, IA, step-children Jeff (Cheryl) Hansen of West Des Moines, IA, Lori Bishop of Des Moines, IA, and Laina (Dean) McDonald of Grinnell, IA, 25 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, sisters Marjorie Miller, Elaine Harms, and Cheryl Spear, and his special friend Tyann Clawson.

Dwight is proceeded in death by his wife Patricia and his parents Kenneth and Juanita, stepdaughter Jan Draper, brothers-in-law Russ Spear and Gerald Miller.
