Kenneth L. “Kenny” Lewis, 86, of Maple Grove, MN, formerly of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at his home in Minnesota. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral services. Kenny was born November 29, 1930, in Fowler, CO, to Harvey H. and Edith C. (Ethrington) Lewis. He was raised in Colorado and Iowa, graduating from Zearing, IA, High School in 1949. He married Betty Green on March 16, 1952, in Laurel, IA. They raised their four children in Marshalltown. Kenny had worked as a carpenter, for Fisher Controls, and had a long career with Doyen Wholesale Food Company as a salesman from where he retired. During his retirement, Kenny worked for Hy-Vee for 10 years.
Kenny is survived by three children: Bill (Joanie) Lewis, Maple Grove, MN; Becky (Mike) Schwake, Nevada, IA; and Bob (Peggy) Lewis, of Marshalltown; six grandchildren: Nathan (Lauren) Schwake, Lexington, KY; Meredith (Dan) Richards, St. Louis Park, MN; Ben (Emily) Lewis, Shakopee, MN; Andrew Lewis, Otsego, MN; April (Joe) Hengeveld, Hartley, IA; and Ashley (Kyle) Stanley, Reinbeck, IA. Kenny is also survived by nine great granddaughters and one great grandson, one sister, Glenna Carver ,of Marshalltown, and one brother, Earl D. Lewis, of Urbandale, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lewis; son, Bruce Lewis; sister, Betty Rench, and brothers Chuck, Raymond and Eugene Lewis. Kenny enjoyed many things, but most of all spending time with his family.
