Margaret Jean Diedrichsen, 91

Margaret Jean Diedrichsen, 91, of Tipton, died peacefully in Cedar Manor Nursing Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Burial will follow in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Margaret was born on June 13, 1926, in Marshall County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Elmer Adolf and Ella Etta Vogt Ramer. Margaret graduated with a teaching degree from the University of Northern Iowa (Iowa State Teachers College). Margaret’s first year of teaching was in a one room school and then she taught 3rd and 4th grades in Green Mountain and Tipton. Margaret was a teacher, volunteer, wife, and mother and has been a member of the First United Church of Christ since she and her husband, Bill, moved to Tipton in 1951.

Margaret was united in marriage to William (Bill) Edward Diedrichsen on August 1, 1948, in Marshalltown, Iowa and they shared 65 years together as husband and wife.

Margaret is survived by her three children: Mike (Carol) Diedrichsen, of Chatham, Illinois, Steve (Ellen) Diedrichsen, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ann Diedrichsen, of Tipton, Iowa; and her brother, Bob (Pat) Ramer, of Leesburg, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, on February 2, 2014, and her parents, Elmer and Ella Ramer. Margaret was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.
