Ruth Lyman, 81

Ruth Lyman, 81, of Clive, IA, formerly of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, with a Vigil service following at 7:00 p.m., at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Suncrest Hospice of Clive and Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Ruth was born June 30, 1936, to Hiram and Edna (Griffin) Putney in Charles City, IA. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Charles City with the class of 1954. Ruth was united in marriage to Robert Lyman on June 29, 1959, in Charles City. In her early years, she was employed with Mode-O-Day in Mason City, IA. After moving to Marshalltown, Ruth was employed with Marshalltown Instruments and the Chiropractic Center of Conrad and Marshalltown. She was also a child care provider for 15 years in Marshalltown.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Karol (Paul Rice) Lyman-Rice, of Plano, TX, Kathryn Lyman, of Ankeny; a son, Roger (Linda) Lyman, of Aurora, CO; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers; Hi-Joe (Judy) Putney, Vince (Ginger) Putney, Ed (Linda) Putney; and a sister, Rose (Duane) Becker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and three brothers, Richard, Alfred and LeRoy Putney.
