Floyd L. “Shorty” Manfull, 96

Floyd L. “Shorty” Manfull, 96, of Tama and formerly of Montour, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Floyd was born on December 15, 1921, on the family farm in Montour, Iowa, the son of Robert Henry and Erma Marie (Slingluff) Manfull.

He attended country school.

In 1944, he married Gladys Rahfeldt. She passed away in 1969. On February 11, 1971, he was united in marriage to Blanche King in Iowa City, Iowa. Shorty farmed near Montour his whole life. He was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Shorty loved driving around in his pickup and visiting at Casey’s and Ellenbecker’s in Tama.

Survivors include his wife of forty seven years, Blanche of Tama; one daughter, Bette Scheid of Toledo; three grandchildren, Mandy (Jason) Lekin of Toledo, Wes Scheid of Des Moines, and Barry Corder of Muscatine; five great-grandchildren, Taylor and Lane Lekin, and Madison, Amby, and Jace Corder; one brother, Paul Manfull of Tama; three sisters, Lois Olson of Marshalltown, Joan (Norman) Gibson of Tama, and Joyce Skala of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Gladys in 1969; one daughter, Bonnie Sawyer; three brothers, Duane, Lyle, and Larry Manfull; and two sisters, Lucille Merritt, and Donna Steveson.
