Price is not right as sheriff

This letter is concerning the race for Marshall County Sheriff. One of the candidates, Randy Price, claims that he worked for the town of Gilman for seven months. The facts are that Mr. Price was hired as the town police officer on Jan. 19, 2009. On April 13, 2009 the Gilman town council, meeting in regular session, discussed replacing him with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office due to his not showing up for work for several weeks. On April 27, 2009 the Gilman town council, in special session, voted to hire the sheriff’s office to maintain law enforcement. Mr. Price was officially terminated effective May 1, 2009, far short of the seven months he claimed to be employed.

An individual who doesn’t take his responsibilities seriously enough to show up for work and then can’t tell the truth. Is this the kind of person we want to be our sheriff? I think not.
