Faith and belief

“Plunk, Plunk swish, swish oh what a relief it is.” Most of the older generations know what commercial gave birth to this saying — it was Alka-seltzer. Of course, the meaning was quite evident, this medicine was good to take away the ailments that had been ingested by over-zealous eaters, and even the common cold. I would think that the world is singing that phrase now; “O what a relief it is that the American presidential election is over.” The world had an over-extended diet of “false news” and we have risen to take up sides of political ideology. All during the campaign, the public had been sick with force-fed, misinformation and outright lies. So how does the common person decide what is the truth? The seeker of truth knows where the source of that truth is. It rests in words and actions of God. The truth-seeking person reacts to the instigator of untruth because we know who the author of lies is, it is satan. Unfortunately, some of the good people try to attack him on their own. That is never a good idea for this struggle between good and evil must be a result of our God acting on behalf of mankind. We must pray and talk it over with him. Results of this election started years before by Christians taking their petitions to God. They wanted our country to return to the truth that God created this country, for a reason. It would be one of the last places in the world where morality would exist. We came awfully close to being just another country that believed in God, but gave him up. I think America is in the position of Old Testament Israel. We have petitioned God to come back to his Holy Temple, now what He does from now on, depends on how faithful his people are. Are you willing to accept the real news? Are you willing to hang onto the wisdom of his oracles? God is the truth, He is the creator and He has redeemed us through Jesus. If we have become ill by the lies of evil folks, Alka-Seltzer is not our savior. We are saved by the actions of a loving God who went, with us, through our illness. Faith and belief is the medicine of the Christian, the rest of the world suffers with their own indigestion; violence and mayhem.
