‘We nailed it’
A big round of thanks is in order for everyone who helped raise funds to catalog and preserve more than 4,000 artifacts in the historic, state-owned Matthew Edel Blacksmith Shop in Haverhill. In just a few weeks, after one of Edel’s great-grandsons offered to match up to $10,000 of whatever we could raise by the end of the year, we collected a hefty $9,140 – thanks to coverage in the Times-Republican (“Fundraising efforts under way at Matthew Edel Blacksmith Shop,” Nov. 17), generous gifts from more than 50 donors throughout Marshall County and beyond, and even a few hardy souls who braved a snowstorm for a fundraising party at the Haverhill Social Club.
To put that in blacksmithing terms: We nailed it. Thanks so much for your support.
