Food drive a great success

The Emergency Food Box and Salvation Army would like to thank everyone who generously donated to the successful Letter Carriers Food Drive that was held May 13. Marshalltown’s response to this year’s drive was one of the highest — with a final total of 10,338 pounds. We are truly grateful for this response!

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Marshalltown city and rural letter carriers for their extra work in collecting and handling those donated food items; our special thanks to letter carrier, Sandy McRill, for coordinating the Marshalltown Letter Carriers Food Drive. This marks the 25th anniversary of the NALC’S “Stamp Out Hunger” national food drive, the largest one-day food drive in the nation. Thank you to everyone whose hard work made this drive extremely successful.

It is due to each of YOU in our community, your generous demonstration of care and concern, that the emergency hunger needs of persons in Marshall County continue to be met. We are truly gratified by all your support and help. MANY THANKS!
