Stand up for Iowa’s kids
Sen. Jeff Edler of State Center needs to stand up for his constituents. He needs to tell Iowa’s U.S. Senators to vote against pending healthcare legislation that would hit children in his senate district especially hard.
The health insurance of 42 percent of children in Marshall County is at risk, according to a new report by Georgetown University’s Rural Health Policy Project. When you look at all of Iowa’s 99 counties, Marshall County kids are among those that will lose the most.
I represent Lee County, another county where children’s health is at great risk if this legislation passes.
That’s why I have already called Sens. Ernst and Grassley and urged to urge them to vote no. I’m writing this letter to encourage everyone — especially elected officials like Sen. Edler — to do the same.
Every Iowa child needs and deserves health insurance. Every boy and girl benefits from regular health care. It is best to prevent health care problems if we can, and start treatment as early as possible.
