Helping our youth get back to normal

Can you help our youth return to a sense of “normalcy” after the tornado? Do you have an unused musical instrument in your closet? Could you sponsor a student to play in one of our many sporting or cultural extra-curricular activities?

Many families are hurting emotionally and financially from the July 19 tornado. Buying/renting instruments or paying for extra-curricular sports and cultural activities are far down the list on many people’s priorities as they work to replace or repair homes and businesses.

We know our students do better when they are engaged in activities at school and in the community. The Marshalltown Youth Foundation provides musical instruments to students and pays the fees for students to be involved in sports and cultural activities. If you want to support our youth, you can donate an unused instrument or sponsor a student. You can contact Carrie Barr at 641-750-2890 or mail to The Marshalltown Youth Foundation. P.O. Box 214. Marshalltown, Iowa. 50158.

There are many ways to help our community rebuild. Thank you for helping our youth stay engaged.
