Wind whips through egg hunt

April 18, 2011 - Bennet Goldstein
Man, was that ever a cold and windy Easter egg hunt in Marshalltown Saturday. Most of the kids and parents had to huddle up next the courthouse prior to the event just to keep the wind from blowing us away. One empty stroller wasn't so lucky as just before the hunt began it went for a wild ride thanks to the wind. It was a little amusing and a little scary to see the "runaway stroller" at the event. It was so cold, we were wishing we could have been the person inside the Easter bunny costume since at least that person had their body totally protected from the elements. All in all it was a good and quick event, which was fine with all of us — nobody wanted to be out there for much longer anyway.
