Festivals roll through in June

Get ready community — festival season is upon us. Conrad’s Black Dirt Days and the Latino Festival in Marshalltown occur this weekend, State Center’s Rose Festival is in two weeks and the Gladbrook Corn Carnival and Iowa BBQ Championships are now just three weeks away. There’s no excuse to stay indoors in the month of June. Stay tuned to the Times-Republican for preview stories, event schedules and event coverage of all of these traditions in our area. Now, turn the TV off and get out and enjoy summer.
