The crummy quarterback carousel

July 28, 2011 - Bennet Goldstein
Watch out NFL, the quarterbacks are on the move. Matt Hasselbeck in now in Tennessee, Donovan McNabb is heading to Minnesota and Kevin Kolb got traded to Arizona.

With the free agent frenzy going on it seems some teams are just swapping out their ineffective quarterback for a new name with the same poor credentials. Many are past their prime and others never had a prime — I’m looking at you Matt Leinart.

I guess it’s supposed to make their fan base feel a little better that some of these teams are trying to upgrade at quarterback and in certain cases these new signal callers will serve as mentors for a rookie. But it just seems like window dressing to me as none of these guys will make much of a difference.

I’d be very surprised if you see any of the teams that have a new quarterback this year make any noise come playoff time.
