Not so hectic this year
November 27, 2011 - Pam Rodgers
Either my family and I are getting better at this Black Friday shopping or we just don’t need as much stuff (the latter is true no matter what). In years past it has taken hours to get through our list and by that time we are done all tired and crabby and don’t want to do anything else. That’s a pretty picture I’m painting isn’t is?
However this year, I had decided to only visit three or four stores and I refused to be at Wal-Mart all night. I went at about 7 a.m. after the choas had subsided. Things were picked over sure, but it wasn’t absolutely insane as it was last year.
I also decided to stay away from JCPennys and Yonkers this year. I don’t mind shopping for clothes/accessories on a regular basis, but for some reason I hate going on Black Friday. The worst part was I usually ended up buying something that wasn’t on my list and that is never a good thing because money is tight right now.
So I was done shopping around 9 a.m. My sister and I retired to my brother’s house while the rest of the family finished their shopping and we were all happy with each other, which is a first for Black Friday. I hope every Black Friday goes as smooth as this one!
