The films with lots of hype tend to have little appeal to me. However, I rented “The Help” and am so glad I did. It is a touching story with a clear message that is captivating to watch. Emma Stone rocked in this movie. I love her work, and I am so glad that she was picked for the part of Skeeter. She was fantastic. Octavia Spencer, who just received an Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, was a delight to see on screen as Minny Jackson. Minny was hilarious despite the hardship she faced in the movie. Viola Davis as Aibileen Clark was just brilliant. She deserved her Golden Globe nomination for sure! Aibileen’s courage is the driving force throughout the movie. It was portrayed perfectly by Viola Davis. I have not read the book that this movie was based on so I can’t draw any comparisons for there. For me, the story moved along well. I had no trouble following the story line at all. “The Help” is a great film. It is worth all 2 hours and 20 minutes. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
