My 200th blog

January 24, 2012 - Pam Rodgers
Well, I never thought I would get to this point. Two years ago when my boss asked if I wanted a blog, I wasn’t sure about it. I have never really thrust my views and opinions on anyone I wasn’t close too. However, I said “sure,” and began blogging about ... well, about nothing really. Just things that interest me, not knowing if anyone cared or found them interesting too.

So for my 200th blog, I thought I would continue in the same grain and blog about nothing in particular. I stick to light topics. I’m not a “feather-riler” so I mostly just kept my subjects to the entertainment world. So coming up with a 200th topic had several options.

I thought about sharing my views on a great new television show*, which I do quite a lot, but then I changed my mind. It seems whenever I do that, the ratings tank and before I know it will be cancelled or will likely not be renewed following the first season.

I could blog about my established TV favorites — Chuck, NCIS, Big Bang Theory, Castle, etc. — but I have been enjoying the current seasons so far, I just haven’t felt the urge to put those thoughts down. I overdid it a little last year so I wanted to dial that back. Plus, Chuck is ending in a few days, and I have a blog planned for when that is over. It will be long but I’m not inclined to care.

I blog about my family a lot too, but we haven’t been doing anything of interest lately. I haven’t been to the movie theater in a week or two (shocked considering I went to five movies in a span of a week earlier this month). I rented Larry Crowne from Netflix, which was a decent movie but not blog worthy.

The winter weather is deplorable. But I’ve shared my dislike of snow and ice before so I don’t want to be repetitive. I haven’t seen any live shows recently but I do have tickets to the Martina McBride/George Strait concert in February. My car is running well (knock on wood), so no expensive repairs to complain about.

I have also blogged about random things having to do with work, personal projects or life in general. None of that really seemed to fit for this “milestone” blog. It’s amazing how much you can type when you just start typing whatever comes to mind. Hmm, i wonder what I should have for lunch ...

*For the record the new show is Once Upon a Time on ABC. It is simply fantastic and is my favorite new show this season. It's on at 8/7c on Sunday nights.
