‘Mirror Mirror’ is not the fairest of them all

April 16, 2012 - Pam Rodgers
I’ll admit, I went into “Mirror Mirror” with pretty low expectations and they were met and then some. I’m a sucker for a fairy tale and I always enjoy seeing Juila Roberts’s work; however, I don’t believe I will be watching her in this movie ever again.

The plot loosely followed the traditional story of Snow White. It was over the top with the corny dialog and to top it off, there was a Bollywoodesque musical number at the end that was completely random and unnecessary (they didn't do a full out dance, Thank God!).

I did find myself laughing at some of the material, it was hard not too. The renegade dwarves were probably the best part, but that’s not saying a lot because I still found them annoying. I’m glad I went to the smaller theater in Chariton and didn’t pay “big-cinema prices” to go to this particular movie.

But it’s always fun to go to the movie theater, even if the movie turns out to be dud. My only other option was “Wrath of the Titans,” and I will save that particular catastrophe for a rental, if I watch it at all.
