A look inside The Situation Room

I just saw a compelling piece on NBC's "Rock Center" on the moments in The White House Situation Room when Osama bin Laden was killed.

NBC and host Brian Williams got rare access inside the plans and execution of the event one year ago.

It was stunning to hear how the decision was made and the major players involved in it. It appears President Barack Obama had plenty weighing on his mind that day but was able to continue about his normal business in the hours leading up to the mission.

I was surprised on just how much his administration was willing to disclose to the public on what went down. I have only seen a few "Rock Center" programs and have been impressed with each one.

It's also nice that NBC uses Williams in more than just his talking head Nightly News role, since he has proven capable of so much more.
