Free 'Juno' screenings at Orpheum
May 8, 2012 - Andrew Potter
In observation of National Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Month, the Orpheum Theater will be screening the film "Juno" Wednesday, May 9 at both 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The movie is free for middle school and high school students who show a school ID and their parents. There will be free popcorn and door prizes. The Coalition for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention is partnering with the Orpheum for this event.
"Juno" is a 2007 comedy/drama which follows the journey of a 16-year-old girl through her pregnancy. It stars Ellen Page and Michael Cera and is rated PG-13.
"We are hoping this will promote conversation about adolescent pregnancy prevention among students and parents," said Laurie Gowdy of Child Abuse Prevention Services.
