No cooling centers expected Wednesday
June 27, 2012 - Bennet Goldstein
Marshall County Public Health Nurse Pat Thompson said there are no plans as of Wednesday morning to set up any cooling shelters in Marshalltown as temperatures were expected to climb into the mid-90s.
She advised those looking to get into air conditioning seek out a public place such as libraries or shopping centers. She also stressed they use common sense and drink plenty of water and limit activity outside.
Public Health has been in contact with the Emergency Management office just in case they decide to open cooling shelters. “We haven’t had to do that yet,” Thomspon said.
