| | School district encouraged by attendance numbersAugust 21, 2012 - Andrew PotterAs school opens up in the Marshalltown Community School District, administrators hope to keep up the momentum in student attendance from last school year. Lisa Koester, director of human resources with the district, reported Monday that last year's average daily attendance was 94.37 percent district wide, just shy of the goal they want to reach in the next few years of 95 percent. Koester said seven of the nine school buildings in the district reported an increase in student attendance from the previous year.
